Do I have to give the gift, even if we separate?

Step-son of 8 months and just broke this week. There is no possibility of recovering together. I bought a golf bag with their favorite team logos in college for Christmas. Bought off eBay so there is no possibility of return. Should I try sell it and use the money to buy gifts for others or gave me? I leave it in your hands. Thank you!
